The Worth of Marital Counsel

“*The worth of a counsel is known, by the outcomes* *of its* *results*”- Pst.Esther Fadumiye.

Not every Advice received are right or adaptable to your marriage, and the way to sieve it is through The Truth of God’s Word.

Many peaceful Homes have being wrecked, through the application of foolish counsel. Each day, thousands of ideas filter through our eyes, ears and thought pattern, pushing one ideology or the other to us. These ideas seek to influence our lives, run our homes and dictate to us, how we ought to take care of ourselves, but it is also crucial to note that over half of these ideas aren’t applicable to us, especially when these ideas are not God Breathed. A Godless counsel is a trap in disguise and a Godless idea brings marriages to a crash. When We negotiate Gods word to us, we negate His plans for our lives, Thus, leading to maximum defeat and tension in our marriages.

Therefore, Pivotal Questions to Ask are:
1. What does God’s Word say about idea?
2. What does the Holy Spirit bear witness to, concerning that counsel?
3. Does this counsel Honour God and my Spouse?

When all of these are answered objectively, then you can go further to consider applying it, to your life and family. Wisdom Speaking in Pro 12:15 says “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”

There is usually a way that seems Right unto a man, but the end of it are ways of death. So if you ask me about my personal interpretation of this scripture, I’ll Boldly say it this way: “Not All counsel should be applied to your life and marriage, else you’ll find it crashing against the rocks in no time”.

So Here is the Wisdom in it:
1. Let God’s Word Be your 1st Counsel
2. Let the Spirit of God within you become the Next of Kin to the word, affirming truths to you.
2. Surround yourself with Godly Spiritual Mentors who can speak to you freely concerning your Marriage Matt.18:16
3. Read Marital Books written by Christ Centered Authors.
4. Surround yourself with Godly Spiritual friends who can hold you accountable for your marital choices God’s Way.
5. When in Persistent Challenge, go see a Godly Christian Marriage Counselor.

These are just a Key few, but as we advance together, you’ll be learning more about this 🥰. So next time you hear someone talk on the subject of marriage, you want activate your inner spiritual sieve, to know if their counsel is truly bringing life or death.

You Were Created for A Purpose!

***When our purpose is not known, an intensity of frustration overwhelms our soul, with an extreme misuse***.

You were created with a purpose, for a reason, and to arrive at a destination.

Early in my Life, i didn’t know this truth, hence I struggled immensely with self-worth and having a sense of direction; but amidst all of my personal struggles, I kept asking the Lord for wisdom and guidance in all of my life’s choices and the moment clarity came, Everything began to positively take shape in my life.

There is no such thing as a person who is an ‘happenstance’. You didn’t just happen, you are NOT a result of a scientific experiment or a biological metamorphosis. Rather you are God’s Creation, beautifully and wonderfully made. You matter to Him and He cares abundantly for you, so don’t give up on you, rather keep trusting in His Love and plans for you. But here is a question for you: “Have you discovered God’s Purpose for your life and Relationships?”.

God Speaking in Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” The word Expected End talks of destiny and a destination. So understanding that God has a purpose for your birth helps us connect with His Perfect design and plan for our lives.

You don’t have to go on a long hike to discover your life’s purpose, rather All you have to do is to simply Ask the Lord with an open heart, refuse to premeditate His answer to you, rather get still before Him in His Word and keep an open heart to receive a word of direction and instruction to you through His word.

God Never holds back from us, He is Loving and Kind and more than willing to reveal His plans to you because Romans 8 reveals these things to our hearts freely, lovingly and openly:

"29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
Romans 8:29-30

God wants you to know His perfect will in everything concerning your life. Remember, You Matter to God and to His Plan in the world.

There isn’t a Closed Case With God

*He is The God of All Possibilities without impossibilities; Trust Him*.

What are you up against? What challenges are you faced with in life, or in your relationships? Note, that your Victory is Sure; for with God, All Things Are Possible Matthew 19:26.

All it takes is Faith to connect to the Possibilities of His Possibility! For Jesus didn’t just stop there, but went further to say “if You can Believe, All things Are Possible to you who Believes.” Mark 9:23.

So Fear Not, because your Victory is Sure, Look up to The Lord and you’ll experience True Freedom. You would Not be ashamed nor dissapointed, rather light would Dawn and God’s Glory would be seen upon your life.

THE DECISION

If you are Yet to know and receive Jesus Christ into your life, Make the choice TODAY, by Asking Him into your heart right Now, submit your sins, fears, past and anxieties to Him and simply Say “Jesus, I make you Lord over my Life Today, I repent of my sins and past to you. I surrender All my fears and anxieties to you, and I make you Lord over my Life, from this moment. I let go of my unbelieve and I Choose to trust in you. Take me as yours and use my life for your Glory, Amen🙏”

It’s That Simple, But Genuine. If you prayed that deeply from your heart, then Congratulations, this is the Beginning of the Best days of your Life as a Child of God! Things may look the same now, but keep changing your believes by the Word of God and that Miracle is INEVITABLE; Spend Time with The Lord daily, communing with Him, in His Word and in Prayer and His Truth would Make you Free and Keep you Free!

You Matter To God

*You Are the Apple of God’s Eye, therefore He cares about all that belongs to you…*

You Are Loved by The Lord and He cares for you In Every way. The devils job is to try to manipulate things and make you doubt God’s Love for you. Your Job is to stand on the Truth of God’s Word and God’s Place is to Honour His word and bring it to pass in your life. It’s as simple as that!

After the Fall, mankind was lost and damned to a hopeless life of doom, but God Sent His Son Jesus Christ to Restore mankind back to Himself. The plan was simple; ‘ believe in Jesus as God’s Gift for your Redemption and RECEIVE His Love for You. His Love for you is Eternal but you’ll have to Believe it and Receive it by faith, in other to experience the Fullness of His Grace. If He gave you the gift of your son when you didn’t know Him, how much more would He take care of you, now that you know Him?

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:29-32

You Matter to God, and that is why your friendships and partnerships, also matters to Him. God’s call on a your life, will always include your connections. Why? Because you are God’s Witness in all you do and His calling on your life, includes your circle of influence, hence scriptures says we are not to be unequally yoked 2Cor.5:14. Why is this? It’s because evil Communication Always corrupts good manners 1Cor.15:33. Now as simple as that can be, disobedience to this wisdom guide, has wrecked so many destinies.

What does this mean? Well, for one, it does mean, we are to LET GOD LEAD in our choices of friendships and connections and in our marriage engagement plans. Not All Advice are God Breathed. Thus, not all Advice is Helpful for a Blissful life. Thus Proverbs 20:18 says ”Every purpose is established by good counsel” , but you can only imagine what the outcomes of a bad counsel could be.

Who Are You Really?

Let’s Be Honest, Pretense is Never Attractive. Putting on a facade could bring on the attention you seek, but it can Never sustain a Lasting Relationship.

God’s Wisdom is Not hypocritical, so thinking you can hold down a Good relationship or marriage with lies & deception would be a fantasy, because the connection forged by hypocrisy is Always Baseless. Jas 3:17 “But the wisdom that is from above is First pure then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

I once bought an orange which looked Really good & fresh on the outside, but when I sunk my teeth into it, it was rotten & sour in the inside. Immediately, I thrashed it, because it wasn’t worth its glow. This is exactly how it is when we pretend through relationships. The whole facade could be intriguing at first, but eventually the truth would be known & the relationship forfeited.

So the Question is, how do you remain true to yourself?

1. Embrace your True identity in Christ. Don’t shy away from whom The Lord says You Are! Psalm 139:14. Refuse to be deceived by others, stay with whom God has created you to be, because He said “Before I forn you in your mother’s whom I knew you and created you…for My Purpose….” Jeremiah 1:5 & Jeremiah 29:11.

2. Mirror 🪞 yourself in the Truth of God’s Word, to Know if you are in alignment with The Lord, in whom you’ve become? Take a look at 1Corinthians 13 & 2Peter 1:4-10 for this.

3. Identify those traits in you that are not Christ -like and begin to consciously work towards becoming a Better you through the Truths of Scriptures and the Help of the Holy Spirit, as you exchange your weakness for Christ’s Strength Romans 6-8 & 2Corinthian12:9

4. Pray in the Spirit & Yield your members to Christ Jesus for the matching Grace to be who He intends you to be Romans 6:11-14.

5. Build your Confidence in God’s Words to you, refute the lie of the devil at every turn. Stand your ground in Holiness and never exchange it for the deception of darkness. How? By Beholding the Light (Chris† Jesus) Joshua 1:8 as you do, you can Never fail.

6. Be Truthful to those you meet about where you are, sharing your strength, weakness & character flaws Ephesians 4:25, as you stay with the program of laying aside the sins & becoming a better version of you 1Peter 2:1.

7. Choose to walk in the God kind of Love Daily! A choice for Love; Always transform lives inside 💠 out 🫙. Thus 1Corinthians 13 & 2Peter1:5-10 becomes your watch word and guide, on a daily basis. This would lead to a failure proof lifestyle that would birth a concensus within you, in agreement with whom others see you to be publicly, and who you are privately.

When we See ourselves the way God Sees us, we wouldn’t be scared about how we look, Behind the Sheets, because by Grace, we’ll be in alignment with Him!

Intimacy in Marriage

“….and they both were naked, the man and his wife, and they were NOT ASHAMED…” Genesis 2:25

Sparks can’t fly and intimacy can’t thrive, when you hold back from your spouse. Marriage was ordained by God to be a transparent field of covenant engagement. It wasn’t meant to be about ‘point proving’ nor competitive tactics, rather it was ordained to be a garden of vulnerability between you and your covenanted partner.

Marriage is a divine covenant relationship, mediated by God; and He calls for:

✨Openness- of heart, motives and plans
✨Transparency- of lifestyle, decisions and thoughts.
✨Oneness- of Spirit, Soul and Body, just as the oneness Covenant between Christ Jesus and The Church Ephesians 5:1-33

When you hold back from your spouse, you throw a wedge in-between and you clog the wheels of your marital flow as a couple.

Please Note- that intimacy is not just about Sex, but more about building and nurturing a deep tie between you and your spouse and this is done through effective Communication that is Constant & mutual, with an open disposition towards one another in ✨’ALL’✨ Things.

Refuse to Fear

*Faith in God’s Love For you, His Word to you and His pleasant will for you, is the perfect Antidote against fear.*

Faith is the sure Currency to possess the Life you desire, because “the Just Shall Live….Only By Faith” Romans 1:17.

This Faith i speak of, is of the Heart and Not of the Head, thus it Cannot Co-habit with fear. But How is that even possible? You may ask☺️ Well the Answer is simple. Keep Looking to Jesus Christ by feeding on His Word, Keep praying in the Holy Ghost Jude1:20, building up your most Holy Faith and you are sure to experience the Supernatural in your life and relationships. With Healing to Show!
